So Foursquare seems to be this social media tool that some people have figured out and some haven’t.  Some see it as pointless, some see it as fun and some don’t realize how powerful of a tool it can be for one’s business.

Foursquare basically is a social tool that lets you “Check In” to locations and possibly show you who else may also be there if they checked in also.  What’s the point?  It’s almost a social experiment.  It shows you “trending now” areas where there may be a lot of buzz because a lot of people are there, as well as it also can help you find some place around your vicinity and you can look up “notes” people have left about those places.

What does this have to with PedalHouston?

It has everything to do with PedalHouston.  It’s a social community.  Where there’s people, there’s a following.  What would be great is if bike stores use these tools to give discounts to “mayors” of certains stores, coffee shops have some kind of treat if you check in while riding your bike and maybe use foursquare to promote places that have “free water” or “free air” for cyclists.  Wouldn’t that be cool?

Great tips for bike stores!!
